Elytra Earrings

These might be the perfect summer earrings. They are made from the elytra, or casing, that protects a jewel beetle's wings. (Don't worry, the wings were passively harvested after the beetles died of natural causes.)
These wings have a beautiful iridescent chatoyance that allows them to change color depending on how the light hits them. They're hung from lightly oxidized, hammered sterling hoops that measure just under half an inch in size. These earrings are lightweight and, safe to say, a little different than your average pair.
